UVic has a variety of learning technologies to support teaching and learning. These include Brightspace, our learning management system (LMS) and other tools to support assessments and communications.
UVic’s learning technologies are supported by Learning and Teaching Support and Innovation (LTSI). They offer guides, self-help resources and consultations for instructors and teaching assistants (TAs). University Systems also provides technical support for learning technologies at UVic.

Services
Microsoft Teams
A virtual workspace for real-time collaboration and communication. Connect with students and colleagues using chat, video, collaborative documents, and more.
Zoom
Connects students and instructors through real-time video calls. Use Zoom by itself or directly within a Brightspace course. Save meeting recordings directly to your computer or your Echo360 video library.
Brightspace
Brightspace is UVic’s online learning platform or learning management system (LMS). Instructors use Brightspace to distribute course materials, create and grade assignments, make class announcements and facilitate online discussions. A web app and mobile app (Brightspace Pulse) are available.
Crowdmark
Crowdmark is a collaborative grading platform for online and in-person assessments. You can use Crowdmark to grade work and provide feedback online. Crowdmark is integrated with Brightspace.
Respondus LockDown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser is a browser that secures online exams. It limits the ability to navigate away from the quiz to other webpages or use other applications on your computer. It's not an AI or remote proctoring application. It can't record or monitor you.

OAC (WordPress)
The is UVic’s hosted WordPress blogging platform. Use the OAC to build your own blog or website.
Echo360
Echo360 (now branded EchoVideo) is a streaming video platform that's integrated with Brightspace. Use it to record, edit and host videos. It’s integrated with Brightspace.
Remark Office OMR
Remark Office OMR is a Windows app for scanning, processing, and grading bubblesheets and other paper forms.
iClicker Cloud
iClicker Cloud is an online platform used to add interactive elements like polls and quizzes to lectures.
